This weekend, Newark-on-Trent will be besieged – 369 years after Parliamentarian ‘Roundheads’ last encircled the Royalist ‘Cavalier’ town during the first English Civil War.
Both The Sealed Knot and the English Civil War Society will be taking part to bring this closing chapter of the first civil war to life, with battles, encampments, characters, and educational activities.
So what’s planned for the weekend? Well, things kick off around midday on Sunday and 10am on Monday – it’s the perfect Bank Holiday weekend activity for the whole family.
We hope to see you there – keep an eye out for our regiment’s standard, the blue flag with the three red ‘lozenges’ at its centre.
