Make sure you’re at home and tuned in to Channel Five tonight – because you might just see a very familiar regiment in action!
The Earl of Manchester’s Regiment of Foote is due to feature in Rory and Paddy’s Even Greater British Adventure, a series which sees the comedians journey around the country taking part in some of the weird and wonderful pastimes people in the UK indulge in.
Series one saw them bog snorkelling and cheese chasing, and this new series includes competitive dry stone walling and … us!
The filming took place at the August Bank Holiday muster last year, with Rory and Paddy joining us for some instruction in the subtle art of pike pushing, pitting our Parliamentarian redcoats against the Royalist whitecoats of the Earl of Newcastle’s Regiment of Foote.
You’ll have to tune in to see how they both got on, but suffice to say we had a great time and it was fantastic to meet them both.
We’re featured in episode three of the series, which is being broadcast TONIGHT (4th October) on Channel Five at 9pm. Don’t miss it!
To whet your appetite, here’s an image taken by our photographer Lorna on the day, showing Rory and Paddy in happier times with our regimental tank/mascot Monty the Dog!
