Manchester’s take part in Race for Life – in their authentic clothing!

Being in Manchester’s isn’t all about the past – sometimes it’s about the future too.

Two of our members are taking part in The Race for Life in aid of Cancer Reseach UK is on this Sunday (18th July) at 11am.

Whereas most of the runners and walkers will be donning sports gear, Lorna and Kathy have decided to do it … in their soldiering clothes of doublet and breeches! Made almost entirely of wool, it’s warm enough when you’re sitting around, never mind when exercising!

They’ve also had to pimp up their uniforms and add some pink, which isn’t particularly authentic for the 17th Century but should mean they really going to stand out in the crowds!

Their efforts are in aid of a great cause so please donate if you can.

To do so, please go to to sponsor Lorna or to sponsor Kathy!

And good luck to the pair of them!
